Martinez should move up and fight Ward.

    Because he gains far less then what Martinez would gain by moving up.

    Martinez won't take a Ward fight at 168 because he can't win it. Fighters have way too much pride to take a fight where they have no advantages whatsoever. Besides , Martinez wants to cash out because he's pushing 40 and getting dismantled by Ward would only hurt his earning potential. Instead he wants to fight, Floyd or Pacquiao for a big check. Martinez IS NOT after a legacy or career defining fight. If he were, he'd challenge Ward. However, that's not Sergio's agenda, a fat paycheck against a smaller fighter while he's still relevant is his motive.
