    Well, he's fighting another top fighter in his weight class(es). However, this doesn't seem to be a title either. He's pretty much the current lineal champ to Light-Middle and Middleweight till he loses in either division.

    Purse bid for Zbik-Martinez was scheduled for Jan 7th, never happened. Unlike the WBA (re: Sturm), they have the balls to strip a champ who doesn't face his mando. Same will happen to Pascal if he fights Dawson rather than Hopkins, and the same will happen to Bute if he doesn't fight Mendy before Dec (although that's IBF, not WBC).

    How can you blame martinez for this, hbo didnt want the zbik fight what is the guy supposed to do then?

    I don't blame Martinez for this. I blame HBO for it, it's not like they didn't know of the WBC's intent as of ****in OCTOBER when a Martinez-Zbik fight was ordered to go down... they could have allowed Martinez to get rid of Zbik on a lesser quality card, and pushed for the Dzin fight late spring / early summer.

    Martinez vs dzinziruk is a much better fight then zbik. I wonder why they are not doing this to berto. They just want to have tehir own felix sturm kind of champion at 160.
