I agree about Berto, he hasn't done anything. He should either be in big world class fights to get that kind of treatment. Martinez should be a super champ or something since he has achievd something. I have never even heard of this Zbik. In all honesty fighters should have to win big fights to be a mando or interim champ not just win dozens of fights at euro level. I don't get how Maidana was an interim champ for 18 months without getting a shot with the WBA and this happens with the WBC. I have also noticed that some orgs seemingly have deals with big promoters, the WBA seems to be the worst though, always thought they had a deal with Don King.

 

WBC and the WBA are becoming jokes the IBF is non existant anymore because of the weak champions. The WBO is the one becoming strong with the years, the newer is surpassing the other old giants alphabets belt.

 

I dunno, the WBO treated Martinez even worse than the WBC has.

Well according to Suliman any former WBC champion can apply to fight for there belt again so now Zbik is 'champ' a hope he fights JCC Jr. then Martinez applys to fight for the title taking it from a paper champ & ridding us of a complete fraud riding his dads coat tails

 

I'm glad when things like this happen. The sanctioning bodies are imploding.

Anyone who gives any credence to these belts is not a fan of boxing.

Martinez is emeritus, so it's not really an issue. We all know the belts aren't important and Martinez will get it back when he wants to. Yeah, it's not right, but **** it. If you let every **** decision from a sanctioning body effect you, you'll constantly be depressed.

 

Martinez should just say **** the belts and dine out on being the best light middleweight and middleweight in the world. Maybe he can buy a house or something with the money he'll save on the sanctioning fees.

 

There is some reasoning for mandatory challenges and usually
boxers have some time to fulfill this requirement, its not always about
the money and that HBO wouldn't pay enough for the fight to happen.

At some point however if you can get enough money just forget mandatory,
forget belts and be HBO type fighter, fight for money and p4p recognition.
I'm not sure however that Martinez is at the level of Floyd or PAC that his
status makes him an obvious draw on HBO scene without holding a belt.

 

Im serious about mandatories, I think if you work hard for a shot you deserve it as well, If the champ is ducking you then yes strip him.
However in martinez´ case its obviously done to suit their agenda.
Zbik could have lost 3 of his last 4 fights, isnt a exciting fighter. Has not faced quality opposition. why not let him and chave fight winner faces martinez or match him up with sturm or sylvester. MArtinez just got ****ed over and its very disrespectful towards the guy.
