Just read it on the site that shows fight news. Martinez said he's sure he will KO Williams because he's faster, doesn't take as many punches and is in his prime. Williams on the other hand said he's heard it before and that opinions change when the punches start "flying". What do you make of Martinez comments? I personally think he's dreaming if he thinks he's going to stop Williams, if anything I think he gets stopped. But the fight will probably last the whole twelve rounds.
I don't think he will, but he's a very dangerous opponent, not someone you'd happily choose on short notice. Cintron only lost to a possibly dirty Margarito and beat the beast in Alfredo Angulo, whereas Martinez knocked him out and schooled in the same fight (which caused so much confustion for the judges, so they scored it a draw just to look absolutely ridiculous). Martinez has a very good chance pulling the upset. But I give little chance to the KO.
One thing is for sure...He better keep his hands up against Williams or its him that will be sleeping...Martinez is a legit threat but I dont see him KO out Williams...Williams is no Cintron so Martinez better respect Williams and dont showboat while keeping his hands at his waist...Williams will thrive off that if Martinez is dumb enough to do that!
Martinez is right, but I don't think he's KOing Williams. Paul's chin is proven and Martinez tends to coast if he's winning. I'm predicting a Martinez UD, his movement will null PW's workrate, Margarito and Winky just stand in place asking for high volume punches. Also Sergio moves in and out very well, he's got quick feet. I can see him staying out of range then jumping in with combos and moving back out before he gets hit.
Williams is the most overrated fighter the sport has ever seen. Martinez is a far superior boxer and will beat him easily. Don't know if he'll get the KO though. He doesn't have elite power.
Martinez has improved since his fight with Margo, but I do agee that if anyone is getting stopped it's probably Martinez.
Yeah, it's weird to see him come out with a statement like that. This thing has distance fight written all over it. He did basically one-shot Cintron, but what does that really mean... PW better not have another issue with southpaw kryptonite though, because Martinez is a way better all around athlete than Quintana.
