Ward is too big and too good. Give me Canelo vs. Martinez or Cotto vs. Martinez any day over that. Both those fights are 50/50, I give the edge to sergio over Cotto, but Canelo is a different story imo..

Ward would **** Martinez up. I think Martinez woops Cotto, stops him. The Canelo fight would be a good fight.

Martinez should go back to 154. Clean the division out and rule it if he can, try to get the fights against either Cotto, Canelo or Mayweather, and retire.

If Canelo is protected from top 10 super welters, how do you give him a chance against Sergio?

Martinez claimed he couldn't make 154 anymore when Lara, Molina, Canelo, Angulo, and Kirkland were calling him out down there.

Now that he has some real comp to deal with at 160 instead of beating the cans he was fighting he wants to claim he can go back?

Agreed. Martinez has no business at 168. Historically, the jump from Mw to SprMW has been a difficult one. Unless a fighter started at 160 and grew out. But there's no formula to this. Some body types can make the move, some can't.

I can bring up sources and interviews where Martinez says he can make 154.

Havent found any where he says he cant make the weight.

    Care to share a source?

That was hardly definite. It was more a deflection for them to try to say Sexy Sergio is "too small" to fight Ward if anything.

I agree, probably just a Chavez fan trying to make it seem as though Martinez is ducking a rematch...

Martinez, at 37 yrs old,has plenty of injures to heal before thinking of next competition.Im afraid Junior took a big chunck of him on sept 15.Maybe a tune up before aiming for the big names.
