    Pacquiao IS a small welterweight.

He could fight at 140, He weighed 143 pretty easy for the Marquez fight.

Inn the same way the Martinez can make 154,and by the sounds of it,thats exactly what hes doing, going back down to 154.

Nice, thanks for that video I appreciate it :good

Now, all Canelo is saying is that he personally wanted to fight Martinez (props to Canelo btw, I am not a fan of his but I really do admire his mentality towards fighting) but his own team said nah. This was not a call out and never was there even an oppurtunity for Martinez to say yes or no, and especially not for Martinez to say 'yes I will fight Canelo but only at 160' like Bama is saying.

Yes it would be a big fight at this stage, and one that could also be dangerous for Martinez, I think GBP should think about taking that risk... its a very high risk reward, because if Canelo wins, it will skyrocket his status within boxing, if he loses, in a few years his fans can use the he was green/young to help distance canelo from that loss.

anyways, good fight, hope it happens.

What Canelo says and what Golden Boy will allow are two very different things.

Canelo wants the best. At least I think so. His Team, like any Team, may have been more cautious for good reason; he is young. But this fight seems more likely now than ever with people demanding Canelo to step up and Sergio coming off a big popular win over a fellow Mexican.

Now the Time-line may be an issue. Sergio isn't coming back until sometime next year...I think May???? so we'll have to see.
I do wonder if the injury will hamper his weight finally.

My point is where has Sergio been with regards to 154. Has he fought anyone at 154. Has he tried to make a legit claim that he is still a 154 fighter or has he stayed at 160 fighting bum after bum until facing his best test at 160 JCC and almost getting KO'd in the 12th?

You can talk all the **** you want post everything you want, but the reality is simple. Sergio Martinez had no intention and no want to fight at 154 for the last 4 years. The only fighters he said he would go down to fight are Manny and Floyd. Other than that he was content to stay at 160 fight euro bums and claim how he is ducked by fighters at 154 and 160, except that fighters at 154 were calling him out to fight at 154 and fighters at 160 were calling him out to fight at 160.

He claims he is the champ, then why the **** does he care who HBO will televise?
He claims he fights the best, why didn't he fight Pirog? He claims he fights the best, well why didn't he fight Molina? Why doesn't he fight Lara? Why doesn't he want to fight Kirkland or Angulo, **** HBO. There is a reason and it is simple.

    He didn't want those fights.

    True.

I like Canelo's attitude though. And I like his fighting style.

I could see them playing it a little more safe with regards to a Martinez fight because one tough fight, win or lose, can do damage to your career...especially a young fighter still maturing and learning. So a fight with the likes of Cotto, Pac, Mayweather, may be what they are looking for. I don't blame them.
Size wise, Sergio is bigger than the names I mentioned. Hits harder as well.
But you never know. It would be a PPV fight.

I think Sergio still holds out hope in getting a fight with Mayweather because Sergio's goal is to be P4P #1. And the Money is a Great Bonus for a 37, going on 38 year old fighter.
The Pac fight is out the window. Even he basically acknowledged that.

Cotto could be on the table.

Im sorry Bama, but you have shown that you cant see the reality, the ****ing reality of why those fights didnt happen.

You dont understand the contexts of boxing, nor its recent history, you bring up random names saying Martinez wont fight them (often when he went and fought other, better fighters as in the case with not fighting Angulo and instead fighting Williams) in a throwaway post ment to discredit Martinez, in which the post has almost no basis whatsoever.

Pretty much you bring up a bunch of names of people saying that Martinez wouldnt fight them, or would be forcing them to go to middleweight. And the fact is your statement is false. Once they get proven false, instead of looking at your position and trying to take an intellectual or logical position on the matter, you dont care that you are flat wrong and just sum it up to 'who cares about any of that, martinez didnt want the fights'.

Again, let me say.... and if you cant realise this then you are lost

    * Your post was bull****, the names you brought up to try and say martinez wouldnt fight or were forcing to come to 160 were almost all bull****, and your agenda against martinez, is bull**** *

Thats not talking ****, that is the truth. This is not a personal attack on *you*, it is pointing out that you dont know what you are talking about in this case, or do know and are being shamelessly bias (like when you brought up angulos problems as to why he couldnt fight Martinez, when posts earlier you were talking about Martinez not fighting him or making him go to 160)

You can not seem to grasp, or simply dont care, that you are not on the wrong side of an opinion, you are on the wrong side of facts.

At 160 GGG is a hard task for Martinez because he has dynamite in both hands and Sergio has poor defense especialy with regards to the jab.

160 fighters Sergio wants no part of
    Pirog, Golovkin, and Quillin

I don't know how many times I'm going to have to post this but despite all of his bull**** trash talk Quillin was offered the fight with Martinez and turned it down. No one is ducking Peter Quillin because he's not good enough to be ducked, but his turning of fights with Martinez and Golovkin certainly makes that verb potentially applicable to his own self.
