Martinez Trainer: "There's an 85% chance of Cotto-Martinez happening"

to be honest,if this fights goes down, i wouldn't count cotto considering that martinez doesn't have an effective jab to follow that hard left hand of his. He also doesn't use an uppercut too much if not he doesn't use it at all. those are punches cotto is really p...rone vulnerable to. Now if cotto can use his jab effectively to keep martinez from countering cotto with any hooks or left straights he could have some success my only reason why i see it being too difficult for cotto is how will he be able to implement a consistent body attack without getting countered badly agianst martinez. It'll also be a difficult fight for cotto because he has to be the constant stalker knowing martinez uses his legs alot to create angles n movement while still being dangerous .

This is a bad style match up for Cotto, Martinez is a solid favorite here but Cotto is the type of guy to take a fight like this. I'd be surprised to see this fight happen. I really figured Arum would eventually make Pacquaio-Cotto 2 after Cotto strung a few wins together. Fights with Chavez and a fading Margarito seemed like money making and winnable fights which would keep Cotto viable for Pac in late 2011 or early 2012. I don't think this fight comes off but if it does Martinez by wide decision.

 

I thought Arum was pushing for a Margarito re-match?

These Martinez rumours don't sound believable.

 

I hope this fight happens and I hope Cotto pulls the upset.
