He was very vocal of how he will beat Cotto.

But Cotto being smaller was more agile and faster for Martinez. Martinez have better chance against same size boxers or bigger. Martinez vs Felix Sturm would be EPIC. Do yo agree?

Both have recent losses. And both has nothing to lose.

Cotto would have been destroyed maybe beaten to death by a prime Martinez. Cotto got lucky with an obviously crippled Maravilla.

NO Martinez was just shot old and coming off a one year layoff due to multiple major knee surgeries which he never recovered from.cotto only fought Martinez until after Martinez had the serious knee problems was old and starting to fade cotto gets no credit for that ***** move.whats the point of Martinez vs sturm they both are old and past their primes it makes no sense.Martinez knocks out sturm prime vs prime

You know if you have health issues you should not be SO sure that you can beat someone. People basically boo'ed him because of his trash talk not is loss.

your right maybe Martinez was trying to psych himself up considering he was coming off a 1 year layoff and didn't know how his knee would hold up.

Martinez is completely shot, Cotto seized the opportunity and beat him before anyone else got the chance. Not much more to it than that.

Martinez was always overrated. It was crazy how people put him in the Floyd/Manny category.

Those two are ATGs, Serg was a good fighter in a poor era/division. He would have beaten Cotto if he were 3-4 years younger, but that is a case where size would play a big difference.

Cotto was a better fighter p4p and had more skills than Martinez.

Maybe he might of underestimated cotto a little but the fact he has no legs was clearly the biggest factor in this fight

knee problems fukk your head up when competing because you worry about it and sort of try and cater to it.....i wouldnt doubt if he had his knee on his mind in that fight.

    jesus...so aggressive.

I did not say anything was hurting him....but it is a fact that even when healthy when comming off knee surgery like his that you are a bit cautious instinctively....it takes a little while to get that confidence back in your knee.....
