get a grip mate, you simply haven't a clue any fighter in the UK fighting for a world title would be delighted with sparring from these guys, simpson (commonweath champ ,when he beats smith surely the euro title beckons) Appleby (ex British champ) Morrison (strong as an ox ex British champ) Santino (seriously keep your eye out for this guy, skill, speed and the balls to match) and these guys aren't good enough?. Ive asked other top British fighters to come up but for one reason or another they can't.

I have a horrible feeling this will be a one sided beat down in favour of Martinez. I simply don't see who Burns has fought to prepare himself for this step up in class. I hope I'm wrong.

In fairness to Burns its very difficult to look anything like world class when your opponents dont want to get involved something Martinez defo will then you will see the best of Burns.:goodrickys well aware theres no point looking world class (which he is) in the gym and not taking it to the fight

my advise is worth nothing, but i noticed martinez step up an extra gear with cook, he will be hard to outpace especialy late on. burns needs to keep it long and elusive, if he comes down of his toes, the fight will turn martinez way and quickly.

Got to be said good advice portside, although Burns has matured a hell of a lot over the last 3 years and martinez will need to be super super strong to stay at burns's pace. cheers all the same:good

The fight will only turn martinez's way if Ricky allows him and he won't

Just watching the sparring vids from Lochend....canna wait for this.

Was expecting ma last post in this thread to get a roasting but nope, nothing.

Watched Martinez/Viloria earlier and other stuff and tbh i dont see what this few leagues above Burns is all about.

I said perhaps previously as i didnt know the guy apart from the Cook fight and of course respect others opinions.

Now having had a better look (ok 1-2 hours of Roman Martinez via Youtube) am wondering what sets them so far apart as has been mentioned.

His range on the outside is quite deceiving.....he also likes the straight right/left hook, what else does Roman Martinez bring to the table ?

Anyways, all theorys/jokes/scenarios aside.....Burns stoppage win, could even see a schooling.

    AND THE NEWWWWWWWWWWW......

billy think you been looking a bit too much through those blue tinted specs you wear! if there is no other sparring partners willing to come up sparring then shouldn't you travel to get it? i've seen all of these boys fighting and am just wondering which one you think fights like martinez? simpson maybe the closest but none of the rest anything like him. hope you get it right though and ricky can pull it off and best of luck to simpson against smith

So close to a fight you'll find sparring partners come to us has they get paid for there services ,This is normal procedure, unfortunatley paul couldn't spar last week although there was plenty sparring in the gym for everyone and we have sparring coming up from England for the next 2 weeks
