Are you on crack or something? Even on Paddy's day, this fight would never sell out MSG!

****, there was what, 4,000 people for Martinez-Williams 2 in Atlantic City?

Sergio wants BIG FIGHTS for the rest of his career, not losing time with a German mandatory or a green prospect!

Cotto is fighting Margarito, Floyd is getting raped in prison or something and Manny will probably fight Mosley.

Next for Maravilla is Bute at 168 (or maybe a catchweight of 166). You heard it here!

Well, if anyone is on crack it's you. Lou Di Bella has already said its looking like either Zbik or Lee. These are the facts, despite how much you want the Bute fight to happen, he hasn't been talked about whatsoever.

And if John Duddy can sell out MSG fighting nobodies, you can be sure the Irish-American community will get behind an Irish guy fighting one of the hottest boxers in the world for the world title.

Keep saying he'll fight Bute to yourself. Then it will magically happen. ;)

Lee is top 10 MW @ WBC, isn't he? Sure, maybe he doesn't deserve to be in the championship picture. But are you honestly gonna tell me Lemieux won't win convincingly over Rubio to get the title shot? He's a WBC International title holder, and his next one's indeed an eliminator. :hey

Sorry for broadening the scope of this thread's topic. After all, Zbik is soooo worthy of discussion. :D

You're not making a whole lot of sense. Lee would be a VOLUNTARY defense. It's not about becoming mandatory for him like what Lemieux is looking for. So why the **** are you talking about Lee fighting Lemieux and Lemieux fighting Rubio?

Lee is 14th in the WBC. Probably a little flattering considering his resume but if they have Lemieux (who's resume is about on par with Lee) as 2, it makes it seem less asinine.

Now if you want to talk about Lemieux/Rubio/Martinez, make a thread about it and we can discuss it there.

You seem to forget mate that if Lemiuex wanted the fight against Martinez next march he would get it ahead Lee...

The only reason Lee is being considered is he could sell in MSG and he is the only one willing to fight Martinez at 160 and would be a draw.

You need to face facts Lemieux aint ready for Martinez or Pirog and thats why his team arent pushing for the fight.....

    I said earlier..

.. this meant that I retracted myself from saying Lee is next for Martinez - hell, even as an optional. The sanctioning organizations must show some balls at some point; how many fighters directly or indirectly earn a shot to Sturm's belt right now? I thought 'mandatories' because I saw Zbik in the thread title... "v Lee or Zbik" makes it sound like Martinez has a choice. Hope the WBC officials put their foot down - so I hastily thought of the possibility of one of Martinez' future mandatories, and that threw the Lee-Lemieux possibility out there. My bad. So yeah, that's why.

I think the situation is Zbik would be getting step aside money so Martinez could fight Lee.

Lee is desparate to fight Martinez but I'm not so sure Zbik actually wants the fight. Zbik will probably be in pole position to take it but he might also take a step a side approach and let lee take it instead if Martinez refused to go to Germany.

I'd love to see Lee vs Zbik, on HBO Boxing After Dark, the winner fights Martinez.

    "then", as in 2012...

Where exactly did I say Lemieux was ready for Martinez, bud? I think Lemieux fights either Martinez, Pirog or Sylvester early 2012 for a MW belt. Martinez-Lemieux will look much more appealing to you then, trust me.

Lemieux already talks about Martinez & Pirog during interviews...

I don't think so, not in a hundred ****in years does Martinez-Lee draw decent numbers @ MSG, but that's only my opinion. Your statement is all speculation too.

Lee hasn't beaten anyone of note and has no standout performance that suggests he can win the middleweight title. If he even managed to go the distance with Martinez, he'd have something to build on. I don't see that happening though.
