The fight was at a catchweight. It was the original plan till floyd ****ed over Marquez hence paying Marquez 600K for the penalty.

After that the fight just went on since Marquez wants to make a payday.

To say that the fight was never a catchweight fight is straight up dumb since Floyd paid marquez to just move on and fight.

 

I hear you, i think the 144 was just a garbage promotion thing by gbp to as floyd always said it was a welterweight fight and had no intention whatsoever of meeting at a catchweight. I remember in the UK leonard ellernbe was on the radio and they asked what weight the fight was at, he just replied with its a welterweight fight. Which made me believe that it was always going to take place at 147 so wasnt surprised at the weigh in when pbf weighed in 146.

 

You are an idiot. If the fight was always at 147, it is WORSE than a catchweight at 144. Catchweights are made to at least make some form of compromise between two fighters. Pacquiao made a catchweight with Margarito at 150, but he could have easily forced him to fight at 147 or no fight, which in your eyes would be better because it isn't a catchweight. :roll:

 

FFS you just dont get it. I admitted it the fight would have been better if held at a catchweight. Funny you mention margarito, why didnt you bring the cotto catchweight up at 145? compromise between two fighters? yeah ****ing right. Just to make cotto stretch a bit more to make weight. There was no ****ing excuse for it to be at 145 when manny had already fought once at 147.
