I only had Pavlik winning 3-4 rounds at best. He didn't knock Martinez down either, in my book.

What a performance by Martinez! Wow! Did all I expected but stayed the course as well!:happy

On the other hand, I thought Pavlik was worse than I expected... quite a bit worse... looks like I had overrated him a bit.:?

Sergio can box. That is a fact. The draw with Cintron and loss to Williams were questionable at best. He should get some respect now.

I said he would Calzaghe Pavlik and he did. It feels good. Not to say I disliked pavlik, but Martinez is the man.

 

Awesome performance from Sergio, he's a exciting fighter to watch. Immediately became a fan after his fight with Paul Williams.

 

Im twisted drunk but im a fan of Martinez and im delighted he pulled of the upset/ Well done.

 

Exactly, if he wasn't such a dick about everything, no one would care.

Now people are going to revel that his boy got dominated.

Hell yeah congrats to the new champ! I called this exact outcome on every thread about this fight.

 

Props to Martinez. I predicted that Kelly would win by knockout after losing the early rounds. Pavliks footwork was really awful tonight and Martinez made him pay. Surprised how Sergio managed to keep going down the stretch. I thought he'd tire which would allow Pavlik to come on strong.

All in all, a great win from a a great fighter. I'd love to see a Williams rematch.
