Martinez vs Abraham at MW

I would love that fight! I hadn't even considered AA going back down but that would make my mouth water!

I think I'd have Martinez right now, though.

 

Ive said it before - but this is the one I want to see. Probably SW outboxes to fairly close UD with hairy moments along the way. Stamina issues caused by the weight probably effects AA too much.

Although Im biased as I watched SW V Pavlik today and he KO'd P-Will last night, might change my mind next Sunday!

 

Pretty hard to see Abraham landing the home run. Horrible matchup for him.

Still, Arthur has to land punches to knock Martinez out or he won't win. Can't see it happening, Martinez is far too canny to be knocked out with one of those hail marys Arthur throws.

abraham is far too slow and martinez will just keep backing up and catch him with constant shots as AA is coming in.

Would be an easy fight to sell. Reckon Arthur would still be there in the late rounds having taken lots of shots from Martinez and the knockout could be on for either.

But if I have to make a call it's Martinez.

 

Martinez is hardly elusive. He is agressive enough to be hit, Abraham sparks him late.

 

65 /35 for martinez. If aa stays in his shell waiting for sergio to slow down, he won't win a round. Dropping weight and having to start brightly is not a good scenario for arthur. Sergio is too sexy to fight defensive though and that is risky against a puncher.

 

If you mean as this happening in future i think we can forget it. AA was a walking corpse in final few bouts. Against Oral he just did what he had to but you could see for 7 or so rounds that he wasn't right. If this fight was to happen it would have to be at a catchweight or 168lbs.

Martinez wins for me. I think AA would struggle with the footwork and angles Martinez gives but as Flea says Martinez does get caught with shots even on Saturday night he was getting clipped. He's willing to take one to give one and that gives AA some hope.

 

Ward will be praying Martinez doesn't move to SMW.

 

Great matchup IMO. Martinez isn't the hardest to hit, but he is much more skilful than AA. Could Abe knock Martinez out? yup. Could Martinez outbox and possible knock Abe out? yup.

I went with Martinez on points. Would love to see it though!
