Martinez vs Angulo: HBO Balks, Demand Paul Williams

Williams is one of my favorite fighters, but I'm pretty ****ing sick of him calling out guys a foot shorter than him and claiming to be the most feared fighter in the world. Anyone who thinks martinez is the problem in this fight not happening are clearly ****ing blind. Its been stated over and over that williams thinks he deserves a bigger split/that he's moving back to welterweight for big fights he won't get etc. Man up, stay in the division you belong in, and fight the best. You gotta make your own following. Like nas said;

Now as for those hating on HBO, shut your ****ing mouth and let them do whats best for the sport. You got old ****ing codgers like arum telling the fans to go **** themselves and offering up a bunch of garbage fights to avoid losing either one of his cash cows. Well this is what happens. If you want to avoid meaningful fights and suck every last cent out of the fans you can, then you can go **** yourself! I hope HBO does the same to williams and denies any other trash **** coming from his side. I hope HBO does the same in the 140 lb division. I hope they do the same in the featherweight. I'm glad they aren't showing the klitschkos pawing at guys half their size like some blown up pdubs. I'm sick of being fed ****ing garbage when I'm willing to pay good money!

that being said, the fight in question would be a fun one.

 

HBO's making the right call on this one. We should be getting Williams-Martinez II- a great, FOTY candidate that could've went either way among 2 of the better fighters in the sport. They should be pushing the rematch!

What to do with Angulo? I've got the perfect call for that one. Match him up with Dzinziruk. Hell, why not put both fights on the same card to build up a fight between the winners?

As much as I would like to see Martinez Williams II, I don't mind seeing Martinez fighting Angulo. On paper it's an entertaining fight and that is good enough for me (for now anyway). Hopefully Martinez Williams II will happen at some point though.

 

They can tell Martinez to fight Williams all year long, it's Punished who doesn't wanna fight Maravilla, not the other way around. But why do I get the feeling that we'll see the Punisher on HBO later this year and it's the World Middleweight Champion who will be punished off-air?

 

Thank you HBO for demanding the fight we should be seeing next anyway. No need for Williams to run down to 147. Maravilla is king at 160, so rematch him for the crown. It's also a matter of unfinished business. I thought Martinez won by 2 points and will win a rematch.

HBO: "No. Martinez isn't fighting Angulo, Lou. Martinez is fighting Williams on October 2nd, so get on the phone with Goosen and make it happen"!!

 

no matter who you think won the first fight, i think everyone boxing fan wants to see a repeat of this fight.

from what i can gather team sergio have approached team williams but team williams said they want more than 50% this time round?

i know he "won" the first fight, but sergio is now MW champ of the world.

Williams needs to forget the 147 division and rematch sergio at 50/50.

that being said i also heard sergio offered mosley 60/40 in favour of mosley? so if he offers that mosley why not williams?

just have the fight at 50/50 people!!!

Martinez-Angulo is a solid fight. HBO would be foolish not to accept it.

 

I like Angulo, but he's taken beatings from much lesser men than Sergio. It's not really a good fight man.:-(

Well...Sergio would look good. It would be more of a workout for Sergio than anything. Martinez, hands down, straight raping Angulo would be kinda funny yet sad at the same time.....In 12 rounds Angulo may land 5 punches worth anything. Thats being generous
