Nope. Everything Barker does well, Sergio does much better.

He's not a bad fighter though, Barker. He'd beat Chavez Jr most probably, I'd give him a very good chance vs Sturm and Golovkin too.

  5. Martinez fighting Barker would be like Pac or Floyd fighting Senchenko or Selcuk. ****in' dumb and pointless.

    :patsch

Martinez should be fighting Pirog or maybe Abraham.

    :deal

I wouldn't go that far. A Martinez vs Chavez Jr/Golovkin fight would be just as competitive. I mean, fair dinkum if you consider those fights mismatches too, but Barker is amongst the best in the division and seeing as Jr and Sturm etc... want no part of Martinez, this is a more than decent fight for Serge IMO.

  8. What about Pirog who has called out Sergio? Pirog iced a brutha out, too (though in less devastating fashion). Team Sergio said that Pirog was unknown and hasn't fought anyone.

    :-(

Fair point. The Pirog fight would be better than the Barker one, and I'm dissapointed that Martinez and Dibella rejected the notion of it. It's an act of hypocriticism on team Martinez's part, but I don't think it makes the Barker fight a bad one. Outside of Pirog, it's the best suitable, available fight that could be made and although it won't be very competitive, it will serve it's purpose well (stay busy, competitive fight for Martinez).

i think a few people are underrating barker, he has enough about him to make it competitive.

been around a few years and he has some nice skills and a great jab, if richard williams can give him trouble im sure barker can!

the richard williams fight was 8 years ago..

  12. Kid Chocolate is also down to throw down. And I think K-9 wants a piece of Sergio's sexy butt, too. Martinez is not as avoided as he says he is.

Ive seen Barker train a dozen times, and hes not as bad as people make him out to be. I think he will do slightly better than Dzinziruk.
