Chavez multiple right hands down the pipe stuns Sexy Serg, but at the third round Serg lands a wild, looping left hand that creates a massive gash above Chavez's right eye. We go to rounds seven but the ring doctor says it's too dangerous for Chavez to go on.

agree with you. they make the cardinal mistake....they pick the newer fresher face guy whos had the most recent entertaining and war like performances...where sergio has looked bored because he makes winning easy because he is that good. kinda reminds me of all the people who picked nigel benn over eubank and lacy over joe.... chavez getting whooped

I really think jr. is gonna shock the **** out of people. Martinez is at least half a fraud to begin with and jr. is a HELL of a lot tougher than he's being given credit for. I'll put a few bills on him.

Actually Martinez has been making close fights with some very mediocre fighters. Pavlik was in bad shape when they fought and I think Paul Williams is just a sucker for the left hook and also took too much damage beating Martinez - and he DID beat Martinez - in their first fight. Sexio is about to get exposed.

I really like your post. But you should take another scenario which I think is the most likely. Chavez chin holds to the barrage as he is really tough but his eyes are swollen and his face is a mess by the 10-11 round forcing the ref to stop the fight

That's highly debatable. You can downplay the resume of any fighter that way. Fact is that he has KOed all the mediocre top 10 ring rated fighters and that Williams was top 5 p4p when he sent him into oblivion.

I'd like to think its a mismatch too. Sergio is quicker, more powerful and has better footwork than anyone Chavez had fought so far. Sergio should be able to stat outside and pick Junior apart, can Martinez stop Chavez? I'm not sure, that's where the interest comes in. If Martinez is hitting Chavez with everything he has and Chavez is still coming it could get interesting. Especially with some decisions we've seen at TR recently I wouldn't be surprised if the plan was to make the final bell.

Personally though I think Martinez beats the **** out of Chavez from round 1 and stops him in the 8th more similar to Pacquiao Margarito than Cotto Margarito I.

the close it gets the more i'm thinking a dominant win for Sergio, might not even lose a round. this is confident man vs spoiled boy

I've been thinking about this fight for a while now and the more I think about it, the more I think Chavez Jr has more of a chance. Martinez is going against the odds here.

    - Dodgy decision
    - Age
    - Stamina Issues
    - Fighting in Spurts
    - Taking rounds off
    - Keeps hands down in and out of range (yes, even when he's within range his right arm is down which makes him open for the left hook!)

Though I still think Martinez will stop Jr mid-late rounds. Being smarter, a mover with power against a virtually no defense fighter will see him through the fight.

I really think beating andy lee warrants him beating Sergio ! He's going to get beat up
