Top Rank booked the date first.GBP announced their fight first. What a bunch of **** ups.Anyway the easy fix is to show one on the Friday and one on the Saterday. This is a huge Mexican weekend in Vegas and there would be a better following for both.
    GBP will blink first.

I still think one will pull out of that date, thats if Chavez actually faces Martinez next, which I'm not sure he will.

Of the two main events I like the Martinez-Chavez fight he best. I think Chavez has improved enough to go along with his size/strength, and chin to become a solid fighter. Martinez is 37 and probably on his downside so this is an interesting fight.

Alvarez-Ortiz is a decent enough fight but Ortiz can be inconsistant and has never fought at 154. I think Alvarez beats him up after Ortiz puts up a decent effort.

If both go ahead on that date then the undercards would go a long way in determining which fight I'd order. Martinez-Chavez card would have the main event advantage but the undercard would be the deciding factor.

Its pretty unrealistic considering the two promoters involved but it would be a great idea if they could somehow work out some sort of split-site card. Both do shows in their own location but offer up 2 fights from both cards on ppv and split the ppv revenue.

I don't see either being relegated to a Friday, honestly.

That is beyond simply blinking on a date, that's basically saying "Yeah, our event is second-rate".

Saturday night is when Big Things Happen.

Can we all agree that if ortiz looks horrible against lopez, then alvarez and golden boy should atleast choose a diffent date and build a fight with trout or cotto.
