I kinda feel bad for Sergio because of his age & his time is almost up. (+ Getting his first PPV as a B-Side to Chavez Jr.) Just no excuses either way when this fight is over. (If Chavez gets decisioned or Sergio gets KTFO)
I hope the middleweight beats the cruiser weight. I have nothing against either fighter though. Just think its time to bring in same day weigh in's thats all.
If Martinez can't hurt Chavez jr and keep him off of him for 12 rounds he's done! I think Sergio is gonna use up a lot of energy moving around and throwing more punches than normal just to keep Chavez at bay. If he can do that for 12 rounds, Sergio should win by a landslide, but I don't think he can at 37 and facing the pressure and the size and strength of Chavez Jr. I think Chavez will chip away round after round and stop the smaller Martinez late or win convincingly on points down the stretch due to Martinez slowing down and Chavez getting to him.
Martinez will surprise his fans by showing very little threshold for pain. Jr's bodywork will put Martinez in alot of hurt.

To me, there is no way this will be a boring fight. Both guys are willing to fight. This could be a fight of the year type candidate. I don't think either man is afraid to do whatever it takes to win. I'm picking Chavez with no disrespect to Martinez who is a very good fighter. I just think Jr wears him out with youth and size late in the fight. If JR is effective with those body shots Martinez will slow way down, and he's slowing down anyways over his last couple fights. However, Sergio has sneaky power and it wouldn't surprise me at all if JR tastes the canvas early in the fight on a punch he doesn't see. Its going to be a hell of a fight. May the best man win.
I like Sergio better, but the potential for Chavez Jr. to emerge as a legitimate and deserving star makes me hesitant to flat out root against him. I hope both men do well and leave it up to them to decide. I suppose my ideal scenario would be Martinez winning a close fight, either a late stoppage or unanimous decision, after Chavez Jr. put on a career-defining effort.
Sergio...i like his style, i like his moves i think Sergio is a great character for boxing...dont know anything about Jr as a person but i think he belongs at higher weight classes
