I just think Golovkin closes the ring off too well and Martinez gets caught too often to get away with it against him.

Are you telling me Martinez has come up against a fighter like Golovkin before? Because Willie Monroe Jr is probably more similar to Martinez than anybody Martinez has faced is to Golovkin.

Golovkin is brilliant at cutting the ring off and hits very hard and I just don't see how a fighter like Martinez who was knocked down and caught off balance a lot would get away with it against somebody like Golovkin.

Martinez loses to GGG, a better a way better version of Margarito and Chavez Jr.

Golovkin beats Martinez in his prime.

Really? Is it that far-fetched to pick GGG over him?

Over prime Martinez, yes it is. The Golovkin stan logic is "Cotto beat him so GGGx293949494 beats him in 0.1 seconds of round one".

It aint even YDKSAB...it's just being illogic for the sake of preserving that hard stannery they have for their fighter. And the thing is, most of them believe their own bull****

I think everyone is aware Martinez was far from his best against Cotto. He had great wins and was very extciting but he was never very hard to hurt and always showed weaknesses in his game. That's not a good combination when you're up against someone who has comparable skills with better power and chin. I don't think It's far-fetched.
