I think Golovkin would win easily to be honest, Martinez has been over rated big time recently.

Haha learn boxing. You don't know it if you don't recognize Golovkins boxing skills. All Martinez has in this match up is a punchers chance, he has the athleticsm advantage but it means nothing against the technical brilliance of a fighter like Golovkin. Golovkins timing and variety of punches are unmatched in the pro game.

I have nothing against Maravilla, but Golovkin could be a very, very hard fight for him. Gennady Golovkin has the tools to win that fight decisively, in my opinion. It would be a must see fight, since Maravilla seems to have had a late prime.

Hope we see it sometime in 2012. Pirog would also be an interesting fight for Martinez.

Never seen Golovkin, so can't make a call. but why not match
him and Pirog up against each other on u.s. soil on a Martinez
    undercard.

Golovkin ain't no spring chicken he's in his prime right now, but he's got a certain rare coolness about him and confidence in himself that can help him defeat more naturally gifted fighters like a Bute or Martinez.

The thing about Martinez tho, he's been fighting fighters, very difficult fighters, that who knows how they would of performed against anyone else that wasn't Maravilla. Dzinziruk had beaten Santos who shortly after ko'd Alcine. Barker was an undefeated European champ and even if maybe 10 years ago not many would take that into account, nowadays and actually more than any other time Europeans are becoming a force in boxing. Maybe both Dzin and especially Barker may have some surprises in the future IF they didn't become damaged by Martinez. Both were durable fighters never been stopped before.

Golovkin isn't the flashiest, the fastest, or the strongest MW out there, but he has what it takes to beat anyone 154-168. I don't buy that **** that Golovkin struggled with Ouma or Sergio struggling with Barker therefore they not as good as previously thought, bla bla bla.. Please wake the **** up!!! It's the results that ultimately matter and neither Sergio nor GGG left it to the hands of the judges! Both Sergio and GGG won in spectacular fashion and their opponents fought valiantly. Ouma has always been known as a difficult fighter and Barker is young talent that has potential to be world champ one day. Today is not his time tho. It's Maravilla time!

Golovkins got great power but he's too slow for martinez...martinez will pick him apart to a wide UD where he proly gets rocked at some point and has to fight through a bit of adversity

That's what I think as well, as long as Martinez chooses to outbox him, he wins a UD.

Whoever wins it'll at least clear the smoke on who the supreme 160lber is. Right now I'd give the edge to Martinez, but I'd say it'd be a strong candidate for FOTY.

Golovkin has no claim to being the best at 160 right now.
