For a while, I thought Martinez speed, power and akward style would be a problem for Floyd.

    Now, I'm not so sure.

To beat Floyd you need to be good at many things and have the ability to switch between them mid-fight.

I'm not sure Martinez has a second set of tools to switch to.

    What do you think?

Would be a great fight. Sadly we'll never get to see it as while Sergio has a huge set of balls, Floyd has a vagina

This would be a very difficult fight for Floyd because Martinez would shoot his left hand low and has the length, speed, and precision to catch Mayweather going straight back.

To be honest, they need to just get that Pac vs May fight on.

Mayweather said he's going to retire though.

:deal Well said. I agree Sergio doesnt have the skills to match Floyds, but neither did Roy Jones to beat Toney. Sergio has underrated ring I.Q. and like Floyd knows how to adapt to a fight. Sergio doesnt need to have a great defense to beat Floyd nobody matches Floyds defense, but I think obviously Sergio would be the agressor the tables would turn in this fight and it would be Floyd who would have to not fight Sergios fight and prevent a slugmatch

This fight could go either way they are evenly matched at 154. Floyd could be winning a close fight by a point, then gets badly hurt even dropped. Sergio has the type of power where he can drop somebody by hitting their guard and doesnt even have to be a cleanshot. His right jab to the body and right hook upstairs are Floyds worst nightmare. Only way I see Floyd winning this is by neutralizing Sergios power by not letting him setup his powershots and making it a complete chess match and alot of clinching. Boring as ****, but Floyd can win this way.

I think fmj outpoints him but its a dodgy one to bet big on, Martinez could KHTFO, 12 rounds is a long time to stick & move (& survive) vs a good, bigger fighter.

Not sure to be honest. Winnable for both, but I can't clearly predict how the rhythm/dance of the fight would play out. Neither is as effective leading as they are countering, but they are still very effective aggressors. I'd have to watch tape to make a real prediction, but it would be a great fight.

Martinez beats that ass everyday and twice on Sunday. Floyd knows this fight will never happen.

martinez fights at a distance in bursts, it would be too comfortable for floyd, the question is can he take sergios punch?

Martinez's speed wouldn't be as big a factor as people think.

Mayweather appears to get faster when he fights a quick opponent, and his superior timing would see Martinez lose that + of his game.
