I must admit i get pretty annoyed of people having a go about Manny supposidly ducking Martinez after his win over Williams.
He even said he would fight him at 150 and rightly so Martinez Team said no.

Please Manny has gone as far up in he weights as possible and even when he fought Marghirito, Tony was a light middleweight (who could still push down to 147)
Martinez is a natural bigger guy at the weight and very natural Light middle who seems to be growing into a settled Middleweight.

I know People dream of Pacquiao vs Hopkins, or say Andre Ward, etc, but be REAL Pacquiao fighting at 150 is the highest he can go where he can perform to his best
This is not coming from a Pacquiao fan but a boxing fan...

So Pacquiao vs Mayweather only logical step for me

I'm not interested in Pac vs Martinez in the slightest. Pac vs Mayweather or Mayweather vs Martinez are good fights however.

hopes of seeing Pac gets KTFO are getting desperate. if and when this fight gets made and Pac comes out winning, people would fit him against a SMW.

back then, people matching Pac for a posible fight against a JWW and WW are getting ridiculed. its really an indirect way of admitting how great Pac really is on the haters mind.

I would not care to see Margarito v Martinez II, that fight was so long ago it is insignificant in the scheme of things. Wouldn't care for Sergio v Cintron II either.

Sergio is a small MW and I think he might be a bit too small for Bute so not interested in that one....plus theirs no shortage of super middleweights I'd prefer him to fight instead.

Sergio v Pirog would be interesting. If Daniel Geale ends up fighting and beating Zbik, then I'd like to see Martinez v Geale late 2011. Sturm probably has the biggest name in MW he could possibly fight at the moment.

Look. Martinez just became the best fighter on the planet not named Pacquiao, and he's the very guy who vacated the belt PacMan and Margarito fought for, so it doesn't sound unrealistic the slightest to hope the no1 fights the no2 for the belt, the current champ vs. the former titleholder.

    Ducking Martinez? That's obviously insane.

Pac is holding the 154 belt, not the 150 belt.

If he wants to carry on as the titleholder he should be willing to face any junior middle.

Otherwise he should just vacate and fight catchweight non-title fights.

Arum already made a statement right after the fight, no more big guys for Pac. what does that mean to you?

and the lowest martinez can go is 155 (or 156?), so he can't fight pac for the JMW belt :smoke

They are crying because the flyweight Pac beats jWW and WW champs on a lopsided manner, then moved up to jMW at a catchweight against Margo. Won again in a lopsided manner against the man who beat Martinez 10 years ago.

They are angry at Pac instead of the belt organization + Arum. For winning.

They are tired of seeing Pac win all the time. They saw a chance of Pac loosing - if Pac will move up again to MW division since Martinez openly stated that he can't drain lower than 156 (promoter dibella said 155, but i'd rather believe the fighter itself).

They got pissed for Arum's statement saying they don't want Pac to move up to Middleweight to chase the 9th title.

There, that's the story. Hope it's clear.

Jealousy and bitter, i can't blame that emotion for a non-Pac fan.

I wouldn't call it ducking if Pac rejects Sergio. But I wouldn't call the match unrealistic either. Pac can fight at whatever weight he wants, so long as he lets Sergio come in at 154. Sounds pretty reasonable to me, especially when Roach says Pac can beat Hopkins who is a lot heavier than Sergio. It's a little bit of a stretch but I think Pac is great enough of a fighter that he neutralizes Sergio's 4 pound advantage (going from 150 to 154 as a limit for Pac's opposition). C'mon....Manny obliterated Margarito. It wasn't even close. What does it matter if he fights a guy who comes in 4 pounds heavier than Marg's limit?

In the words of Manny: "We have to give him (Marg) a chance."

This should apply to an outstanding fighter like Sergio as well. If not him then at least look into the direction of the likes of Bradley or Berto. Please don't even consider Shane or Cotto.

That means Pac's going to give up the 154 strap.

They're wanting to fight JMM at 147, despite it being a better fight at 140.

I don't know about you, but I like seeing competitive matchups and entertaining fights play out rather than one-sided pointless beatings.

I don't expect Pac to go to MW, but if he wants to keep his Jr. middle belt then he can either face challengers to that belt or vacate the title and stay in the lower divisions. This really isn't a complicated situation.
