    Just read on ringtv that both Ward and Martinez would be up for fighting. Looks like Marvilla is going to be moving to Showtime by the sound of things so looks a possibility? Talk of a Catchweight as well so lets just say the fight goes ahead at a C'weight of 165 in Vegas. . . .

    Who wins?

    Ward wins, and likely dominates. He may even score a late stoppage.

    At the end of the day, Sergio isn't even a true middleweight.

    Sergio would have had a better chance gunning for Hopkins.

    Ward = Very good.
    Martinez = Very good.

    Deciding factor = Ward is the bigger, very good boxer.

    Ward wins, maybe stops him late, that hands by side **** wont keep working, and won't work against the fast punching, bigger Ward.

    I go along with that myself. Would be an interesting matchup because of Marvilla's speed. But i see Ward taking a close UD.

    I'd probably argue that Ward has equal or even greater speed. Along with Ward being the much bigger boxer, Martinez's hands down style will not work well against Ward who has great judge of distance from what I've seen so far. That straight right/left hook will work a treat against Martinez IMO.

    All credit to Martinez if this happens though.

    Sergio is a total stud if he takes this fight though, a total stud

    The difference between their 2 weights is much greater than what it looks like on paper.

    Martinez fights best between 154 and 160, but never weighs in exactly on the 160 limit. I think anything above 160 is untested water for him and would leave the door wide open for excuses if he were to lose (genuine excuses).

    Ward on the other hand has fought at 168 for his entire career and is a SMW through and through. To me, its about the same difference as lightweight/middleweight, it's only 8lb's on paper, but the SMW division right now is so good because the competitors at that weight have been there a looooong time and are 100% natural to the weight.

    Really can't see this fight happenning. If it does, I'd say anything less than 164, Martinez wins, above then Ward wins.

    Ward just too big. I still think Sergio is really a LMW and should go back down to fight there.

    Ward would win by a wide margin, he's too big and too skillful for Martinez.

    I have a hard time coming to grips about Ward's "size".

    He's a little shorter than many of the SMW's, and his arms and legs look much skinnier.

    Where is he hiding all this weight/size?

    Easy win for Ward. Not just because of his size, he's just the better and more complete fighter imo.

    Martinez to slick for Ward...caviat: Martinez carrying the extra weight could be an issue, we know he doesn;t like the extra weight...
