The problem is there aren't any cash cows at middleweight or even super middleweight. I don't blame Martinez for wanting a huge payday. Besides, Sergio has already proven he can beat legit middleweights in Pavlik and Williams. Don't you think Martinez deserves a breakthrough fight against a big name opponent? It's a way for him to hit mainstream. Both Pac and Floyd took advantage of Oscar when he was in his decline. Since Pac and Floyd will not fight Sergio he has to look for the next best name which would be Cotto. Sergio isn't being entirely selfish as he's giving Cotto a chance to move into the top P4P list again if he should beat a bigger, dangerous opponent.

Cotto could win this. I'm not convinced Martinez has great power. He's fast and a southpaw, but Cotto does pretty well with guys who fight on the backfoot.

I wouldn't be surprised if he won this fight. Cotto IMO is underrated and has damn good power.

If true, Martinez can go **** himself. This is disgraceful and the worst thing is that he's whoring himself to this BS so shamelessly.

And yes, I'm referring to the catchweighting.

That reason alone gives me hope for a Cotto chance.

I just think Martinez is well settled in his weight and has excellent stamina and punch resistance with very decent boxing skills.

However, he can get touched quite a bit.

At this point I still give Martinez the edge....I just hope I'm wrong on this one....I have been many times before!!!

Williams is not a legit middleweight. He's 154 tops, and would prefer 147.

Pavlik spent most of his "training camp" at the Betty Ford Clinic in Rancho Mirage, California.

April 7, 2010 — Rancho Mirage, Calif.: After two weeks of treatment, Pavlik leaves the Betty Ford Clinic, according to a Yahoo Sports!

April 17, 2010 — Atlantic City, N.J.: Pavlik loses his middleweight title against junior middleweight champion Sergio Martinez. in a unanimous 12-round decision.

Very Very bad fight for Cotto. I think Cotto vs Berto is the best match up. Cotto vs Paul Williams would be great as well.
