Does anybody want to see this? Is there a posibility of it happening? I wouldnt write off Paul Williams just yet.
Martinez lost a very close fight and then destroyed PW, so he's in charge of whether he wants to fight again or not. If I was him i wouldn't bother unless Paul puts himself into contention at MW again.
you hate Williams that much? Let him get down in weight Pavlic will KO him with a straight right eventually
Not right away. they are 1-1 against each other so a third fight is not unreasonable down the line. If Williams recovers and Martinez keeps winning. I think in about two years this fight might happen.
NAh. just like PW wouldnt give Quintana the third fight. Same **** happened except that Quintana actually beat him convincingly. PW had to get a gift to beat Martinez. Besides ask Paul and im sure he wouldnt want it. Its like i was saying all along. Martinez can only get better because he makes adjustments. PW cant. He fights one way and he has already been figured out by MArtinez. Even MArtinez felt bad for him and said he should probably go down to 154 so he doesnt get hurt.
PWill, has earn the right to have a third fight with Sergio. PWill is a big name and has big wins and is still a threat.
As a big PW fan I would like to see a rubber match but I feel if PW doesn't tighten up his defense then he is in for the same fate!!! The sad thing is a trainer like Mr. Peterson has an extremely rare talent in Paul Williams and is actually stifling his potential! We all know that PW loves to bang!! But for him to go into that rematch with that mentality proves that he wasn't trained or given the right game plan!!! People try to say Martinez isn't a big puncher but if he had hit anyone with that shot from 160 and below it would have been the same result. You can see through out PW career that he has no defense for the left hand(Mitchell,Winky, Phillips,Quintana,Martinez I&II). That to me says that I'm not learning something. That also shows a reflection of training and preparation! This all equals time to change your trainer!
I was thinking the same thing. I think Martinez has a more legitimate case in that many scored the first fight for him anyway and he clearly ended the second one, what more is there to prove in a third? It wasn't like the left landed out of know where, PW was eating those like Popcorn from the first fight.
:deal Williams needs to start from scratch and tweak his style for Sergio because obviously Martinez is getting better and figured Paul out. Williams needs some tuneup fights for confidence, but it wouldn't surprise me if he wanted the 3rd fight ASAP. Williams is a warrior and I still think he's a pretty dangerous fighter.
