And that is EXACTLY what happened. I don't know what fight this guy was watching. This guy was saying this **** in the HBO round by round thread and got laughed out of there. 30+ years of watching boxing doesn't mean **** if you're blind as a bat.
Cintron shouldn't have done what he did, but to say that Martinez wasn't boxing is bull****. The fight should have been Martinez KO 7 Cintron, not some bull**** draw.
He did look good but like Calzaghe he doesn't go for the kill. DLH did that much. When Martinez landed some clean shots he just kept moving and never really followed up. He does box well but seems safety first.
The fight was ****, they both fought like **** and Im just glad I dont ever have to watch either of them fight each other again. How can a man who constantly has his hands down be rated as some great fighter, this is just Calzaghe part 2. ****ing cut out the showboating bull**** and throw some meaningful punches. too much cheerleading in boxing nowadays. Cintron, to be fair was attempting to try to establish something but he looked quite similar to how he looked against Ndou so I was expecting anothr no show which he obliged us with. I dont want to see Martinez fighting again , he is just an irritating person to watch for some reason.
About Spinks/Taylor? I had Taylor winning an ugly pretty much unwatchable fight. I like boxers who can box, but what a lot of people call slick boxing is usually safety first guys who take no chances. Floyd was a great example of an excellent boxer, Hopkins is as well. Not brawlers, but slick and counter punch. Martinez didn't even really counter punch.. and the KD was pretty much a lucky shot because he hardly threw any shots with real conviction and that shot landed from a strange ass angle. Martinez just circled most of the fight with his hands down, and their was way too many clinches mixed in with that. Seriously had maybe 15secs of action each round. The crowd agreed with me.
