Bute KO10. A bridge too far for Maravilla, he's a natural 154er whereas Lucian is a natural 175er fighting at SMW. There was already Pacquiaoesque weight difference between him and Pavlik, you don't wanna give away even more.

As a Bute fan i'd like to see it , but I'm thinking that it's unlikely to happen. I think Martinez speed , skills and movement will give Bute real trouble at least in the early rounds.I'll say a 60-40 fight or even closer.

Bute all day. Probably a better fighter anyway but he also has a gigantic weight advantage.

Like both Bute and Martinez, but this fight just shouldn't happen... If it does I will watch it, but it's a foregone conclusion Bute is going to take this one.
Martinez has enough possible big fights in front of him, including the possible rubber (I always thought it was "rudder" like in a submarine, but whatever) match with PeeWee.

For Martinez 168 is just too high up, he is no Pac and Bute is no Margo.

Well right now what's left for him ?
The only decent 168 fight is Stieglitz mostly because he is WBO champ and possibly Pavlik. My thoughts are that Martinez is more dangerous then both.

I'd like to see this fight mostly because it would be two elite level boxers fighting each other.

Martinez has fought the better quality of fighters and has a style difficult for anyone to handle. Bute is a very good fighter in his own right, but I think he'll have a hard time with someone that is actually faster than him. Bute would have to have the fight of his life and catch Martinez with body shots. Golovkin knocked out Bute in an evenly matched bout and Golovkin is pretty much text book. I think Bute is kinda like another Oscar, talented boxer/puncher, but not the best their is. Martinez would counter Bute all night. Martinez by a SD. Now if it's in Canada, where most likely it will be, then Sergio most likely gets robbed. I know Martinez is a natural 154lber, but I think he's that good. Both him and Williams could be fighting at 160-168.

Imagine the wrench this would throw into the SMW division if Martinez did win.

Bute is recognized as either number 1 or 2 there so a LMW coming up and beating the man would be embarrasing wouldnt it? Considering this is the strongest division in boxing.

Nonsense! Pavlik wanted a rematch at 164. Martinez immediately called out 39 year old welterweight Shane Mosely. When Mosely said no, he called out Angulo. AFTER HBO forced his hand, he reluctantly agreed to a rematch with PDub. Bute/Martinez NEVER happens.
