Martinez is a former LMW (and started at 147). What's your point? I would hardly say Martinez "struggled" against Barker or Martinez.

p4p is a subjective crock of **** anyway, it makes an interesting conversation but it's futile to argue who should be 3-4-5 on a list of fighters on a p4p basis. Is he in the top 5 best fighters in the world based on skill level?

    I dunno ... possibly.

Well, he's the lineal champ at 160, so why would he vacate it?

He didn't struggle with Barker or Martinez. He had competitive fights with both but was clearly in control in both, other than a few rounds here and there.

Surely it's better to put him in tougher match-ups than easy cakewalks. It's about good fights, not easy ones.

Seems like he is fighting Lee next, will this help his record?. Personally i think is record is fine 2 big wins and 3 decent wins in his last 5.

If he fights Lee, he'll have taken on three top ten-rated opponents, including the lineal champion in Pavlik in his last six fights. That's pretty good going, I'd say.

  7. 15lbs is **** all, in comparison to the skill and experience disparity between the two.

Not sure when Williams was ever a real welterweight too..... a weight cutter of the highest order IMO, which cost him big against Quintana.

I think Quintana (getting caught cold aside) is a pretty bad matchup for Williams anyway, not sure it being at welterweight was a big factor. Lara essentially used the same blueprint.

Southpaws that move especially, and unfortunately they're the only ones he seems to face. They cut into his work rate significantly with smart movement (actually I think an orthodox fighter can do the same, it just so happens they've been lefties). Thing is though, he doesn't seem to see a left hand from a leftie, at all.
