I would like to see Cotto vs Cintron now.

Friend of mine at the venue said that the doctor told someone in Foreman's corner to throw the towel in.

Mercante was out of line. Foreman might have a torn knee and he won't let his OWN TRAINER stop the fight. And he was throwing "shits" and "mother****ers" around every time Foreman slipped as if it were his fault.

 

Now Mercante is saying the cornerman denied he threw it.

Anyway. Mercante isn't to blame here. He did the right thing.

 

Which was a cover for what happened.

I don't think I disagreed with that at all. I mean I'm not disagreeing with the fact that Cotto would've stopped Foreman. Foreman would've lost regardless...but if Foreman has a serious leg injury, it was exascerbated by that.

Not only that but one of Foreman's trainers said stop the fight. That's a disqualification.

No Kellerman, he didn't do the right thing by the rules. Foreman's corner should've been DQed.

 

Good win for Cotto, but lets not kid ourselves. This was Yuri Foreman, not Paul Williams or Sergio Martinez. Let the jubilation about him being back start after he conquers someone that is an elite fighter.

If the corner says stop the fight. You stop the fight..so he didn't do the right thing.
