I wonder if they'll throw some more free boxing our way now. A fight that ends this early? Should have SOME room for another 4 rounder.

Benavidez thanks everybody for their support. Said he's been in a lot of national tournament felt he was ready.

Roach says he has more than what was showed tonight. Look forward to more exciting fights and thinks he'll be a future world champion.

Like I said, this guy is on the ball.

According to Raul Marquez, Benavidez will be fighting again in Feb.

Kassim "Da Dweem" Ouma coming out to You Got Another Thing Coming by Judas Priest. Ouma looks a bit disinterested. Then again I'm on my 4th drink so maybe that's something else.

Vanes coming out and now and I swear that the dude holding the title belt is the same guy that cuts my hair.

The fight starts with a jab off. Ouma jabbing downstairs and Vanes jabbing up top. Vanes JUST misses an uppercut and is caught with a straight hook from Ouma which he deals with fine. Ouma bouncing well and jabbing, Vanes going backwards, misses with a wide uppecut and comes back quick with a powerful jab. Ouma still looking for a body jab, Vanes being patient. Vanes goes upstairs with some partiall blocked shots. Ouma still digging the body jab and trying to go to body then upstairs. Big right by Vanes partially blocked. Ouma seems focused to develop a body attack early. Incidental headbutt draws a complaint from Vanes. Ouma looks comfortable early and Vanes seems to be just missing. Ouma's head movement is substandard early on and Vanes is letting his hands go. The two men trade punches but you dont need to be a rocket scientist to tell who hits harder. Ouma coming forward, Vanes going backwards and another headbutt as both men come forward. Fun round with some interesting action.

    10-9 Vanes

Vanes is very fluid right now as round 2 starts. He's lunging a bit and Ouma is doing a decent job avoiding the bigger punches or at least partially blocking them. Ouma ties u and then comes out with a powder puff-esque 1-2. Vanes is going to walk through that all night. Vanes looping with a hook to the body. Marquez compares Vanes to Darchinyan a bit. Vanes with a QUICK 1-2 as Ouma walks in that forces a clinch. Vanes catching glove mostly and hasnt hit the sweet spot JUST yet. Some more jab work from both guys as the pace slows down. Vanes winging a little bit especially with that uppercut. Vanes landed the bigger punches as Ouma landed some solid pitter patter jabs. 10-9 Vanes.

    20-18 Vanes

He walked right into a BRUTAL 1-2 like nothing. He was coming forward right into the power punches.

Vanes defence wasn't the best in round 2, clipped a few times. Ouma carrying little power though, he's fortunate about that.

Still seems like he's dictating the action quite comfortably without doing anything too amazing as yet. Ouma working hard and testing Vanes without sufficient quality.

Ouma throws a long uppercut as round 3 gets going. Vanes lands a straight right which Ouma can't seem to avoid just yet. Ouma moving forward and throwing pitter patter punches at Vanes. Vanes lands another 1-2 as Ouma throws a five punch combo, chasing Vanes around a bit. Vanes holds with one hand so Ouma tries to uppercut his way through. Ouma landing some solid leather on Vanes especially to the body. Ouma and Vanes are really throwing now as Ouma is walking through Vanes power. Vanes with a borderline body shot that Bayless warns him about. Ouma walking forward and Vanes ties up. Ouma back to the body as Vanes wings with a hook. Sure enough Vanes STORMS back in the last 30 seconds with the straight right OVER and OVER 4 times in a row. Vanes lands another straight right as the round ends. Weird round to score. Does Ouma's solid work in the first two minutes count more than the more powerful punches Vanes landed in the last minute? I say nay. 10-9 Vanes.

    30-27 Vanes.
