Yes he was beaten by Bobby Watts and Willie Monroe. He later came back to just destroy Watts and Monroe early, a few years later. Lemieux also took two losses at age 22, but hasn't lost since. I'm not comparing Lemieux to Hagler and saying he's an ATG Middleweight. Just saying early on in your career a lot of fighters are still learning the game. There's a learning curve to this stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if Lemieux is better than we originally thought.
Watts and Monroe were very good fighters. They would more than likely beat Lemieux at his current stage.
Trouble is Lemieux aint 10% of fighter Marvin was, look at his punches elite fighters will see that sh*t from mile away, this fight has tremendeus promotion but its easy win for GGG.
Golovkin already destroyed the best 160 pounder in the world in Murray. Now he's moving on to #2. But the point of the thread is that fighters get better. Don't be shocked if Lemieux doesn't get blown out early.
He looked a lot better against N'Jikam, but he still looked flawed. He was being seriously outboxed, and if there weren't a huge power differential he'd have lost that fight. With Golovkin there will be no differential.
Golovkin beat the absolute Jesus out of Willie Monroe Jr. who is a 'Mongoose', whereas Hagler got his **** pushed in by Monroe Jr's uncle who was only a 'Worm'. If anyone can find me one piece of footage on Youtube of a worm beating a mongoose in a fight I'll eat my shoes. Mongooses kill black mambas, cobras and other species of highly venomous snakes for goodness sake. They toy with them like they're nothing, highly venomous snakes that put the fear of god into mortal man and other animals that are literally hundreds or even thousands of times the size of mongooses. atsch
How exactly was he exposed, he was young and inexperienced and gassed out, it happens, then his next match he was too cautious, he's got his kinks work out now, get over it.
