It depends how prominent dominance is in your ranking criteria and whether you think he edged Leonard or not. Given that dominance has a prominent place in my ranking criteria and that I thought he beat Leonard he's quite high for me. In the top 20.
Working my way through this all-time 100, I'd say that going by achievements, Hagler definitely isn't top twenty, he shouldn't be top thirty and he only just about stays inside the top forty.
Tom Sayers was little more than the standard M/W.. same as Dan Donnely. Turps' me mate, You've upset both their Mums.. Now ya is strife!!! :yep
Actually that was wrong. That was in my first draft, but now Hagler's higher than Bass. First time, it was nearly a random order but things are now coming together. I do rate Manuel Ortiz higher.
Manassa, why you have Ali rated so high and Roy Jones nowhere in sight? IMO, Jones is the more formidable fighter. Ali doesnt even throw body shots, and his best shot is a right cross while Jones had even more speed, could end a fight with a body shot, better combination puncher, more dominant, equal power in both the right and left. Jones was the more complete fighter. Ross and Mclarnin, no way. And Dixon, I'm not sure what he did that puts him others. And Hagler to me seems to be getting the shaft if you cant even put him in the top 30, much less 40. He seems to make many choices seem ordinary by comparison. It's a free country though
