It's not even a knock against Hagler to say he does not make the top 10 all-time middleweights.
The division is so deep, you can be an elite ATG fighter (which Hagler certainly is, imo) and still fall short of the top 10.

Your correct, and this is what i am claiming is the case. Hagler is an ATG but does he make the top 10?

I put WINS on Haglers resume. You just put who he fought. Revise that list and name who he won against.

I'm not sure whether you are supporting the points made in my post or arguing against them but, in any event, I agree with a fair bit of what you have conveyed, above. I think a case could be made against all the Greats, where level and consistency of results against their opposition is concerned.

There's a pretty neat site called Boxrec.com. Use it and you might be able to work this out for yourself.
Better still, go and actually watch some fights of Hagler's so called poor opposition, including that of his pre-Championship days.

How the hell does a guy go through 67 pro fights, not so much as get dropped (Roldan fight was a slip) by fighters like Hearns and Mugabi who were in their absolute prime then gets knocked out 5 times including by the likes of Cerdan? You honestly think BHop beats Hagler???? This is ridiculous!

Only someone with a real vendetta against Hagler would come up with a list like this.

i have checked out his resume, It doesn't stack up well against most other 160lb champions. I have a huge collection of Hagler's fights, which i have viewed, many times over the years. Again i say Hagler falls short, of beating the other champions. Marvin Hagler was a very good fighter, and the best in the world from 78-87, but IMO he does not make The Top 10 Greatest 160lb Fighters.

IMO Roldan floored Hagler. Hearns broke his right-hand in the opening round. Mugabi was a Class C fighter. I seen McClellan destroy him in London. Are you trying to make claim, Mugabi was was superior in anyway, than Marcel Cerdan?
Are you saying Sam Langford, Ray Robinson, Carlos Monzon or Bob Fitzsimmons would not be massive favourites, to beat Hagler?.. most likely by knock out. Langfords trainer, would mark a cross on the ring canvas, which marked the place, his fighter would leave his opponent unconscious. Robinson knocked out over 100 men, many who was World Champions. Fitzsimmons knocked out Heavyweights. Monzon's record speaks for itself. BHop was an incredible fighter and champion, who eat southpaws for breakfast....

You have not been able to show, how Marvin Hagler is worthy of being, rated All Time Top 10 Middleweight.. So you are now making claim, i have a vendetta against him. Well i don't know Hagler, i have never met Hagler. I have put forward an excellent case analysis, of why i feel he is not Top 10 worthy..So cut the vendetta crap, and address the topic.

Marcel Cerdan was one of the greatest fighters of all times. Your obviously a `newbie` to the sport.

You're entitled to your opinion but most observers would disagree with you, if only due to the limited case you put forward. Your prior post of speculative outcomes, involving Hagler versus [Insert any other Middleweight in history] indicates you do not really take an evidence-based approach to determining how these 'what if?' contests might turn out. Again, I suspect many, if not most, would dispute these as being the likely results.

I would add that, of the little evidence you do put forward, your interpretation of it is dubious, e.g. in your opinion, Roldan floored Hagler.

Most of Cerdan's success came as a welterweight and European opposition .. to say his record at 160 is superior to Hagler's is a reach if you ask me ..

I was never wowed by Hagler. I think I'm missing something but I go back and watch him and still feel the same way. Don't like his footwork, switches back between southpaw and orthodox too often, indecisive at at times, the fight with Duran and the loss to Leonard. I don't think I'll ever rate him as highly as this forum does.
