Could Taylor beat even this Hagler?

  1. Yes. He'd Get Marvin At Just The Right Time.

    16.7%
  2. No. Hagler still has enough to whip him.

    83.3%

Hagler of the SRL fight facing
Taylor of the first Hopkins fight?
Can you see Taylor doing the same as he did against Bernard and beating The marvelous one?

Hagler would win but he'd struggle imo.

I think the 1987 version of Hagler could have still beaten Jermain Taylor albeit with some rough moments. A 1982 Hagler however would have made short work of him

A 1984 version would have wrecked him imo. The 87 version imo finds him self getting frustrated at times, at not being able to pull the trigger as fast on Taylor.
He'd know in his prime he'd have gutted this guy.
But I reckon he does just enough to get a decision, maybe split. Taylor won't have the sway of the crowd on his side like Sugar had.
Maybe it would be Taylor wanting a rematch?

im not sure. All I know is that I would favor any active version of Marvin Hagler to beat Jermain Taylor

1987? Hard to say. Taylor was big middle weight, much unlike the smaller, more famous men that moved up in weight to fight Hagler at 160.

Hagler would be the clear favorite over Taylor in the early to mid 1980's. IMO Hagler retired at the right time, and was wise not to move up to 175 pounds.

Hagler would've made short work of Michael Spinks ala Mike Tyson.
