I`m not English and you are ******ed if you think Hopkins beat JC. It wasn`t even close. Hopkins was so gassed late in the fight he was reduced to feigning low blows to get a break.

size difference would be bigger than you think, Hagler fought under the same day weigh in rules,Calzghe fought under the day before the fight weigh in rule. If Hagler was fighting to day he would most likely be a light-middleweight, i never used to think about the the big difference in weight and size fighters from this era would have over fighters of past eras when they would weigh in on different days but now i know the different rules would make a difference

Finally someone that knows a little about Boxing and how it has changed. Hagler walked around at 163/4 all the time. Hagler was a welter in todays boxing.

I think that Hagler would be too much for Calzaghe, but you never know. Calzaghe with his weird ass style had a crazy way of off setting peoples timing and rhythm.

Hagler would have easily made junior middleweight today and maybe could have even drained down to 150 without killing himself. Calzaghe was a big super middleweight. Still, I think a prime and motivated Hagler would still be able to win landing the majority of clean, effective punches.

I'm glad Calzaghe beat Hopkins. It was a good win no matter what people say.

The RJJ fight was pathetic. Saying RJJ was way past it is an understatement.

Anyways, I think Hagler knocks his ass out in the middle rounds if that fight happened.

Thank you sir! I have made this argument over weigh-in rules many times. The 30 weigh-in rule changed a lot of things. For example, Hopkins, Taylor, and Pavlik are all HUGE compared to guys who fought under the old rule.

Under the old rule Calzaghe would spend his entire career at 175 because prior to 1984 there was no 168 pound division. Under todays rule Haglar, who often weighed 157-158 on the day of the fight, could make 154 rather easily. In other words, the two men never meet if you put them in the same era.

Calzaghe is way too strong at the weight for him. Calzaghe UD. Just because a small Hagler will not outbox him.
