In this day and age, if Hagler could put on enough size to be physically imposing and still keep the power, I would take Hagler all day long, Calzaghe was excellent but a peak Hagler was different gravy.
it depends on who wins the battle of the jab. It will not be a war, and Joe would be tough for Marvin. Marvin would have to be aggressive and use his jab. Joe just move and use his angles.. I really don't know this one... I like both and it is hard to pick. A disputed draw?
Joe fairly easily. Hagler wasn't close to the same size. And Calzaghe's routine was like 160 Leonard's on steroids and amphetamines.
157-160lb small middleweight Hagler vs 168-175lb Calzaghe Hmmmmm. It's would be a great competative fight to watch, but there were a few reasons Hagler never moved up, and money was only one of them. People really need to stop making fantasy fights with Hagler against much larger elite level Super Middleweights and Light Heavyweights. The moment this forum matched Marvin Hagler against Antonio Tarver is when i knew it was getting out of hand
Calzaghe would have the higher output. Hagler might land the more effective shots. A lot of it would depend on who the officials are and weather or not there are any knockdowns.
