I'm more directing it at the daft claims that Hagler would simply walk through GGG and Canelo which he wouldn't. Both would be more than a handful for him, my friend.
You clearly. What's join date got to do with anything. YDSAB it would be an extremely hard fight for Hagler.
Those decisions could have gone either way in fairness to Marvin. Also Marvin worked on a building site right up to the time he became champion. Which makes his career all the more impressive. Lads today don’t do that. They are full time athletes, fresh for training and rested properly etc
I think hagler stops cenelo easy. Ggg would be way more competitive but the fight would end up looking like lomota Robinson ggg falling of in the late rounds ending up getting a life changeing beating
Neither was Canelo before he moved up and became top dog. Duran was similar size to Canelo, and Hearns went on to win titles at LHW and beyond. Both just a different class of fighter to any contemporary MW.
He’s passionate but even Snr would feel uncomfortable with the praise. It reminds me of when I was a kid or teenager and I’d see a beautiful milf that ticks all the boxes and I’d be day dreaming after that with the odd wank but she would occupy my thoughts for a while after. That’s Bulldog with the fruit loop Snr
I agree with a lot of that but unfortunately for GGG fans is it was his choice to be fighting bums in his prime....He turned pro at 24/25 and if he was that good he should be fighting top quality asap...HE didnt fight Danny Jacobs (who had had major health issues) until 11 years later ffs!!!.. So he was already past his best at 35/36 until he fought a grade A fighter.....I have no idea how you can compare what GGG DIDNT do in his prime to what Hagler DID do in his prime... Take Lomachenkos turn over to the pros and see the star that he really is and why he will be considered a great and GGG wont..
Hagler has a very tough night with GGG, Calzaghe, Hopkins, Canelo, Martinez, Froch and Ward from the modern era imo.
Like a third of those guys have giving Hagler a 'very tough night' in them...and that's only if they're on rare form on the night.
Calzaghe and Hopkins are the only candidates on your list IMO. The other five are classy middles and super middles and hold up alright in a lot of historical match-ups... I just think in this one, between conditioning and stylistic disadvantage, they'd all be up against it with MMH.
