This thread should really be asking what would Bernard Hopkins excuses be when he loses? Or can Marvin hagler stop Hopkins.... I think he could.
Bernard Hopkins is a crafty fighter who would’ve been a LHW in Marvin’s era and should’ve been one in the modern era. Marvin on the other hand would be a welterweight today weird to think about. I just think the larger Hopkins would just spoil all night- fouling as he goes the whole time abusing his strength in the clinch as often as he can and making it a worthless watch.
Marvin gets the decision he deserves this time imo. Bernard does what he does best but this just makes Hagler ramp it up. Hopkins crys foul at the end, to no avail.
For me only 3 MW would have an even money chance of beating MH / the following = SRR-Greb-Monzon. Thinking is rather pointless to put any other up MW against Hagler. Keep Well.
Hagler via UD or SD. Tough fight for Hagler stylistically, but he pulls off the win. Can see Hopkins winning this as well, but I give the edge to Hagler 60/40.
