Nah, I have a signed Marvin Hagler glove. I love both of them. It's just that their styles match up horribly.

By the looks of the photo, Bernard is so scared to land a punch. Even so, p4p Hops vs p4p Hagler: hagler by UD or by stoppage in the 10th.

Best post of the thread, and no other way of putting it. He just doesn't do it. :bart

I think Hagler would have all types of problems with Hop. I see the potential for Hagler getting a little frustrated at times, and I see the potential for Hop getting outworked for some rounds...

But the one thing we should know by now is that Hop has proven himself to be one of the smartest fighters ever. There is Ring Smarts (Hagler) and there's Ring Genius (Hopkins)

Hopkins in an ugly, controversial, decision (7-5)

Hagler takes it. More skilled and fluid traditional outside boxer and can get rough when he needs to. I think his jab plays a huge factor here and is the most telling/consistently landed punch of the fight.

    Are you nuts?

Fluid? The jab? Name a fighter who has ever been able to fight a fluid fight against Hop? And name one who has landed more than a couple of jabs against Hop.

Hop would never lose on the outside to hagler. Marv's only hope is the inside, and as someone has already pointed out, BHop is one of the best ever inside. I don't see a lot of options for Hagler except maybe to catch Hop in transition, coming in and going out.

Hagler by late round stoppage while leading by 3-4 rounds at the time of the stoppage. BHop has a good chin but he has been hurt a few times and by much lesser fighters/punchers than Hagler.

Hagler isn't a blown up Trinidad or ODLH, nor is he a Vanderpool, Allen, or Joppy. If I remember right, Echols had BHop hurt pretty badly, imagine what Hagler would do.

Yeah I agree... ain't nobody getting schooled.

Hagler was a straight monster... and Hop is a ring genius. I just think Hagler would spoil his way to a close ugly decision.
