Hopkins schools Hagler and wins by UD.
Like Leonard, BHOP has too much movement and slickness for baked bean head Hagler.

I don't how familiar you are with Hagler's work. But nobody recovers against Hagler. Nobody! Once Hagler hurt his prey it's Dooms Day:deal:smoke. I say Hagler win this by way of workrate. Was Hagler the bigger man I'd say KO similar to the way Hagler finished Tomas Hearns. It would have been wonderful to see this fight. I believe the outcome would put BHOP's Hall-of-fame stature in a different light.

    Silly thread.

Hopkins wins this fight anyway he wants. He could slug or box and the fight could be 12 or 15 rounds, it wouldnt really matter.

I rate Hagler as the greater middleweight due to his superior resume but in an actual fight prime for prime, I'd favour Hopkins to win a close decision.

Hopkins movement and ability to box on the back foot would be the deciding factor here, Duran and Leonard showed how movement could give Hagler problems. Hopkins is also very adept on the inside and would not be overwhelmed as badly as many boxers would be against Hagler. Hopkins I think was also just a little bit quicker than Hagler and could more often than not beat him to the punch.

Hagler for all his strengths would not pose any problems Hopkins could not deal with. Haglers ability to switch and southpaw stance would not help him as Hopkins has always proven very effective against southpaws. Haglers aggression and workrate in Hopkins prime would not be an issue either. Hopkins has shown he can fight at a high pace, like against Johnson where he threw 60-100 punches every round and against Joppy at the end of his prime where he threw over 800 punches, landing over 400 punches.

It would be close but Hopkins close UD.
