I see, he is no light heavyweight, he just weighs as much as one.

Hagler overcomes all weight, despite never beating a world class fighter who was heavier?

Canelo hasn't beaten anyone at light HW?.if he locked him self in a chip shop and went up to HW would that make him effective ?.canelo should fight at light middle thats his natural weight and Hagler would have dealt with him like any other light middle.

Same day weigh-ins? Yes, they rehydrated shortly after the weigh-ins, sometimes quite a bit One of my friends used to wrestle at 135 but his true weight was 145-147. If a dumbazz 14 year old kid could pull that off, don't you think world-class athlete could even better. His Uncle is Mickey Ward btw.

Alvarez would not have a size advantage over Hagler, Hagler was over 6' and 200 Lbs... or at least that's how he made most of his opponents feel.

    Just 1, your Momma!

    Sorry, I couldn't resist.

You are putting everything on the assumption that Hagler never beat any fighters who were bigger than himself. Do you really think Alvarez would have a size advantage? Do you really think that when Hagler weighed in under 160 Lbs. for a fight, that he was still under 160 at fight time? Even if these two things are true, does it matter?

Thomas Hearns stood 6'2" with a 78" reach and won a couple of minor world titles at CW (190 Lbs. in those days). A lot of people thought he beat Ray Leonard who beat Thomas Hearns (drew with him at SMW) and stopped Donny Lalonde at LHW. What does all of this mean? Not a damm thing!

No, Canelo has beat men rehydrated to Hagler's size.

It might, especially if he is walking down middleweights.

Not that I agree, but I see the same logic applied to Marciano.

Marciano didn't beat rated super heavies, but the men he beat did.

I'll give Canelo a nod for giving Hagler a tougher fighter fight than some of you believe that he would. Canelo, though he is no Duran or Leonard has some of the tools to cause Hagler more trouble than expected.

He has an above average defense, some counter punching ability, and likes to box his opponents. I know that most of the opponents that Hagler really laid the wood to were the ones who attempted out do him with their aggression the way that Vito did the first time.

The bouts that give evidence to my claim are Vito II, Hamsho I and II, Fully Obel, Sibson, Scypion, Roldan, Mugabi, and Hearns.

With that being said I don't think Canelo can box well enough to take a decision, but I believe he has enough to reach the final bell.

Bruce "the Mouse" Straus beats Canelo every time unless they pay him to lose.

hagler by being from the height of the steroid abuse era, ped use is nothing now compared to the wild west style use back then before the dangers of steroids were known or testing was even attempted.
