Eddie 'The Flame' Gregory visited the canvas more than a few times as a Middleweight.

* Mario Rosa had him down 'twice'.
* Don Cobbs dropped him, and staggered him.
* Bennie Briscoe stunned him several times in their bout.
* Lenny Harden dropped him.
* Lee Barber scored a 'flash-knockdown' on him.

But all that said, in 1976 at 165 lbs. - Eddie 'The Flame' would have been just a bit too strong for Marvin.

Eddie had demons, he couldn't stay middle and moved up.
You've heard me say this before but, had Eddie kept his head on straight, he would have went down as one of the greatest pvp fighters EVER.

Sidebar: and don't give me that crap about his fight with Spinks (see above)
He goes up and fights Snipes at heavy (why?) which isn't his weight and then has to shed 'tons' prior to Spinks (he looked like a shiveled pear at the weigh-in)
Still had Spinks in his pocket the first half of the fight before he wilted (and after tasting the 'jinx' late still got up and finished the fight) The Associated Press scored that fight a 146-146 draw by the way.

Eddie Gregory was a much more talented fighter than Michael Spinks. But, given his personal problems, no one will ever understand what I'm even talking about.
