I'm not sure if he had a good chin but he had good recovery and overall durability, atleast as a welterweight. I doubt Hagler "slugs" with Trinidad, he would have broken him up and eventually stopped him. The reason Hagler went at Hearns is that along with his massive power he could also outbox about anybody. Trinidad doesn't have that option and he would be the one chasing Hagler while walking into counter-punches.
Yeah, Hagler would just take things slow for a few rounds, use mobility and gradually turn the screws on Tito. Probably ends up a lot like the Sibson fight, except Tito gets hit with even more straight punches. Trinidad promptly retires after the fight, only to come back years later against an utterly washed up Hamsho, then get horribly schooled by Reggie Johnson.
Yeah, I think we should fill you in that Trinidad would be better matched at Welterweight, seeing as it is his natural weight class.
yeah i know i dit Mayweather vs Trinidad on the genral but im just seeing how Trinidad does at middle then im going down
First though, let's match Tito against Carlos Monzon, and make it a quartet of merciless ass beatings for him.
He faced some pretty good punchers. He had a lot of flash knockdowns but never really hurt badly. I could see it playing out more like the Hopkins fight or hagler by decision.
Hagler would bring the pain more so than any of the welterweights Trinidad fought. If he got taken apart by Hopkins, he would get taken apart by Hagler.
this one would be fun for as long as it lasted. hagler too big and too good. imo a mid-round stoppage for hagler.
