There's levels of opposition too and Golovkins hasn't been sterling, therefore it has flattered him.

Oh god I have heard it all now. mid-70s Monroe was losing to club fighters. If you were to compare him to a GGG opponent it would be someone like Lujuan Simon

In terms of footwork he absolutely dominated a very quick top WW what more do you need to see? He beat Brook to the step the entire fight

Could you please name the club fighters that mid-70s ('74-'77) Monroe lost to?

I like GGG and respect him .. I just have not see him fight the quality and diversity of opposition to say he could have defeated an all time great like Hagler .. Marvin had an all time great chin, was a terrific boxer / puncher , a southpaw, had five inches in reach .. GGG may have been a bit stronger mentally as his confidence is off the chart .. he may have better stamina as on a few occasions Marvin showed a bit of doubt in going fifteen and held back ( Duran/Vito 1) .. It would be a brutal fight for sure ..

So that magically makes Hagler immune to ring aging? Do you understand that Hagler had been in a lot of very tough fights and was almost 33 years old?

Hagler's greatest weapon here is his jab. He would dispatch with Golovkin like he did with every other fighter and that is starting with the jab. Golovkin would have no answer for it.

You tell a good story, dino. :sisi1

    Here's another one.

Foreman KO 2 - ATG Frazier.
Foreman KO 2 - ATG Norton

Ali loses to both and struggles in the rematches.

    End of story ?

GGG is definitely a better puncher than Hagler. GGG can sit down on his punches more, and still remain balanced and mobile.

Then again, Hagler does really well under pressure, especially from good punchers. He handles pressure better than he handles a good outside boxer.

Hagler never fought any "murders row". Maybe somewhere between a murders row and an unpaid parking fines row.

I mention one thing about Lou Nova being a good contender and you flip out about it but this guy say Golovkin has the greatest footwork of all time and you only say his opposition has flattered him? ****ing hypocrite...

According to the poll so little people think GGG would win yet if you were reading the thread you would think it was almost half and half.

Not sure that GGG is a better puncher than Hagler ... Hagler was a terrific puncher as well .. I think GGG lives by his power and ability to take shots more but Hagler has more overall game .. both are very smart .. Hagler knew he was a natural middleweight and so does GGG .. they don't leave their division ..
