Prime for prime, GGG beats every Hagler opponent, including SRL and Hearns. But Hagler edges him in a close UD.
Mugabi perhaps would have beaten Minter but my point is that prime Hagler was from 1980 to 1983, not 1986. If you are comparing 2 fighters in their prime you have to pick prime versions do you not or this all becomes worthless surely. It's like me saying that Lennox Lewis would easily dominate Ali because Leon Spinks won a split decision against a very faded version.
Anyone who thinks Hagler would stop Golovkin needs to take off their nostalgia tinted glasses, nobody in history under 200 would stop Golovkin
Yeah I don't see these two stopping each other. Two of the hardest guys I've ever seen in a ring. I watched some Hagler footage back to back with Golovkin and they really look like they are in different divisions. Golovkin seems much thicker than Marvellous, and Hagler is visibly faster than Golovkin. I'd say that hagler would be 154 today.
Can`t believe how overrated Golovkin is on here.Who has he beat to merit such praise? Its not rose tinted glasses its knowing your boxing and any one who seriously consider them as such knows Hagler is by far the greater fighter.
Hagler by Decision. GGG can take a good punch but hes never dealt with a savage like Hagler before. I dont know how he would deal with the constant pressure im sure Hagler would bring, but i agree with most, given their styles it would most likely be a fire fight.
Who do you think stops Golovkin at 160, 168 or 175? I don't think anyone would. By saying under 200 I didn't mean including 200.
