50-50 imo. GGG never beat anyone as good as Hagler but I'd argue Hagler never beat anyone as good as GGG either.

Hagler's powerful right jab negates GGG's and he controls the fight. Hagler was able to box and if needed brawl ,both have solid chins so I think Marvin takes a UD though rounds 13-15 would be uncharted water for Golovkin.

This one is going to the cards for sure. Normally I would say Hagler close ud but the different weigh ins are a big factor.
Is it a 160 Hagler vs 170+ lbs ggg?

Sometimes I wonder if Hagler would have been a welter in this era.

One thing for sure, it’s going the distance. Two of the greatest chins the sport has ever seen.

I would have to pick Hagler. He definitely was the more skilled and as a southpaw I think he would have the jab, the aggression and the gas tank to win enough of the rounds to win a clear decision.

Here’s the thing, Hagler is simply the more proven fighter. Ex. The chin has to go to him because his stood up against Hearns and Mugabi. Looking at that weak **** thrown against GGG is a far reach. The biggest puncher he faced was Lemieux.

Well a few things first. The dehydration rules they fought under are different. So in actuality Golovkin is a good deal larger than Hagler and it kind of shows when you look at videos of them. Hagler is more fluid and faster. Golovkin is slower and more tank-like, and he visibly hits harder. He'd be in the next division up in Hagler's era. So this is not entirely a fair fight unless you take very early GGG who might have made 154 at a pinch.

I think they are both very well rounded fighters. Hagler seems a little more flexible whereas Golovkin excels at imposing his game. I think Golovkin has the better jab and the heavier jab, and does more with it. On the other hand GGG's stance makes him somewhat susceptible to uppercuts and a sharp dude like Hagler would figure it out fast. Both guys are incredibly tough.

I honestly can't pick a winner here. If we let them come in at whatever weight they want then maybe I lean a little towards GGG. If we make Golovkin cut weight to match Hagler, then I lean towards Hagler.

When GGG was crushing tomatoe cans, I wont lie believed in the hype but when the opposition became a little stiffer, it was clear to me that he wasn’t what the media made us believe that he was. I favor at least 10 past middleweights to dominate him. Some by stoppage.

Can GGG do same day weigh ins at 160? Im unfamiliar with how much he usually weighed on fight night during his prime?

... he was fighting at an age where Hagler had become shot and had already retired?

Check GGG out in the amateurs. Believe it or not he was a speedster. That's what getting old does to ya.
