hagler was a pretty good accumulation puncher, he wouldnt back up bc he will force the inside fight and will land hard short accurate puncher in betwwen calzaghe's sloppy work, if somebody is getting backed up is calzaghe not marvin, ithink is possible that marvin stops him too

Average boxers have tagged Joe doing that. 40yr old Jones is shot to **** - he's lost a lot of speed in the process.

Hagler was effective on the backfoot.

The main question is how Hagler deals with the size. Calzaghe would be a light-heavyweight during Hagler's prime, due to different weigh-in rules.

Calzaghe is a very good fighter, but Hagler was superior. Hagler was one of the more versatile and complete fighters you'll ever see. However, he was a middleweight, and not a very big one either. You don't know how a guy will perform after jumping up in weight. And Calzaghe is not some scrub 168/175 fighter.

    Hagler destroys Calzaghe.

Is there a Joe C Vs Jesus poll coming where Joe wins that too?

Because of the size difference Hagler could not bully Joe and that was his chance. Joe will win quite easily in his fight. I am a Hagler fan, but this fight is not fair to Hagler as it is such a bad style match-up.

Why do you talk like we need to theoreticise (< thats possibly not even a word) this?
Haglers still alive right? and I am sure Joe would get down to 168 for this for his farewell fight in wales in front of 70,000 fans.

He could be the first ring magazine 'fantasy match up SMW champion (while the other guys still alive)'

Hagler has more right than dawson to call him out.

Hagler by TKO 9 or 10. Marvin is clearly the better fighter great chin and the power to put Joe to Sleep.
