Hagler by clear, comfortable and convincing UD.

Peak Marvelous was a cut (or two) above the very best version of Joe, and a cut (or twenty) above anyone Joe ever faced.

I see this one going to points.... but very exciting all the same.

I think Calzaghe's bigger size, speed and workrate would see Joe through to be honest. One of the best fights between two southpaws I can think of.

As much as I like Hagler, I think that Hopkins would of possibly been able to beat him too thinking about it. I'd love to see that one too.

Quit that **** about Brewer and Mitchell having lost due to a "fix", the first was a close loss in a competitive fight, the second wasn't even competitive as Mitchell was beaten to the punch from an uncommonly active Ottke very, very clearly. You can add Reid if you like to, but that was Ottkes last fight save a farewell one to go with a good win, when he realized he is too old.

PRIME Calzaghe (not the old version who went on a circus tour with da allstars) was way faster, someone like Hagler would probably have some early success catching Calzaghe sending him down, but then would simply get outsped for the rest of the fight for at least a 7-5 region UD. Hagler was way smaller than Calzaghe even if he didn't look like that. Prime Calzaghe was an animal of his own, you would need a tall rangy technically savvy fighter who can match him for speed with better timing to beat that one, kind of a supermiddle Mayweather. Hagler does not fit that description.

Pretty much sums it up, I too can't understand why people seem to think fighting at range would favor Calzaghe when Hagler is only about 2 inches shorter(if that) but actually has the longer reach. In a battle of the jabs at range then Hagler would win all day long.

Calzaghe would want to get up close, past the jab and throw his fast, plentiful flurries to try and outwork Hagler, I also imagine Hagler may be reluctant to try and tie up the naturally heavier Calzaghe so would therefore have to go on the back foot to get back at range and re-establish his jab. This is what would favor Calzaghe as his volume of punches, work rate and stamina make it very difficult for fighters to get back into a fight and find any kind of rythem once he has them backing up.

All things considered though I suspect Hagler would not allow this to happen and would be able to dictate the pace and range for long enough periods of the fight to win.

Very nice, now could you explain what any of that has to do with how Calzaghe vs Hagler would pan out?

Jones is a semi-******ed, semi-literate assclown. He thoroughly deserved the beatdown, humiliation and spiritual **** that Calzaghe administered. I like Roy, but he's a clown. I'd say I probably like Roy more than Calzaghe tbh.

    Hagler KO1 Lee, anyone? Bueller?

Hmm, this would be a great fight. Depends how Hagler handles the weight, etc..
