Well Calzaghe is 8 pounds heavier than Hagler in the ring so he has a size advantage straight away.

We all know on ESB you aren't allowed to gain weight.

Hagler is 5'8 and career 160 lber.

I'll take Calzaghe. Saying that Calzaghe never fought a southpaw to my knowledge (if Hagler stays southpaw)

The funny thing about Hagler was that he always did well against other southpaws...because he had such a great right hook

8 pounds isn't bothering Hagler one bit

Maybe because Super Middleweight wasn't around in his day?

He’d have been much heavier than that.

Marvin often used to weigh-in under the limit in the days of same day weigh ins.

On fight night, Joe could have had 15 plus pounds on him.

Joe was a big guy, slimming down from 200 pounds.

It would have been significantly more than 8 pounds.

Marvin would have been a JMW today.

This. Today's MW are significantly bigger than then. Calzaghe was a full size guy for his division.

Yes, I’ve got them mixed up.

I can’t think of any more. Unless they were really early on in his career when he’d just turned pro.

Calzaghe has the advantages in footspeed, handspeed, workrate, height, natural strength/weight. Hagler has a 2 inch reach advantage, arguably a better jab and maybe a slightly better defense. I think Calzaghe feints better.

Calzaghe wins this by controlling distance and outworking Hagler.
