One of Haglers hardest defences against an excellent John Mugabi. Mugabi's nickname was apt,'The Beast'. Mugabi tested Haglers chin to the fullest, Marvin shows why he is one of the true ATGs. One of my favourites, a great fight. Thanx for reminding me. I think i will go and watch the full fight now!
Awesome. :good That uppercut Mugabi landed in the 4th round, I think. Would have knocked at least 99% of middleweights who ever lived out, I reckon. Round 6 was a beauty. It's a shame Mugabi never recaptured the brilliance again. I think he's an example of a fighter who soon as he became a truly respected star fighter he slacked off, enjoyed the high life and lost his hunger. Still, he provided us with this classic. Mugabi was 'the beast'. Hagler was more of a beast.
Great highlight video, & it also allowed me to find your new youtube channel. :good I eagerly await the release of your full Qawi tribute.
Yeah, that uppercut was in the fourth. Gil Clancy even called it "I really think Mugabi is setting himself to throw that uppercut, Tim....THERE IT IS!" That punch was a monster, and Hagler hardly blinked. Love that guy.
